Lauren Mead

My name is Lauren Mead and at 21 years old I am the youngest woman in the Clipper fleet this year.

I come from a family of professional sailors and have always been passionate about boats. I began racing since the age of 15, first in dinghies for the South East Laser Youth Squad and then as part of the GBR Yacht Racing Academy in 2006. Now I am looking to stretch my sailing knowledge to the limit by completing all 35,000 miles of the Clipper challenge, gaining my RYA Yacht Master qualifications so that I can compete professionally in offshore races in the future.
