Raising Money for The Philip Green Memorial Trust

The charity that I will be raising for The Philip Green Memorial Trust. This is an independent children’s charity based in Mill Hill (North London) that raises money to support children all over the world who have disabilities It supports welfare, medical and educational projects as well as helping individual children to lead a normal life.

The Race

The Clipper Race is the only amateur global yacht race in existence that sees 17 crew and 1 professional skipper battling it out with the 9 other boats in the fleet as we race 35,000 miles around the world.

Starting in Hull (UK) on 13 September 2009 the 7th edition of the biannual Clipper Challenge will visit 5 continents over the coming 10 months, stopping off at each country that sponsors the boats in the fleet.

The international media attention that the race gains is projected to reach US$56.8 million this year, with thousands of spectators coming to see the yachts at each port and many more following the fleet’s progress online.
